Designer Silvio Nitzsche’s latest decanter ‘Eddy’ completely redefines the world of extreme wine instruments.
The functionality of a ‘respirator’ has seldom been united with an aesthetic language of design in such a spellbinding way. The robust, high-grade borosilicate glass has extraordinary transparency and hardness, and in an interplay with light and the contained wine, the decanter creates visually interesting reflections.
“Once rotating in the textured stimulator, oxidation that would normally take hours is done within seconds, thanks to the swirls at the conical indentations”. Created to expand the surface area of the wine, it has a capacity of 1.5 litres. The decanter has a flattened bottom so it can stand upright safely. An optional base of matt black silicone allows inclined positioning.
