Whether you’re a professional tasting for work or an enthusiast tasting for pleasure, the new WSET Tasting Notes app is a quick and simple tool to help create structured and consistent wine tasting notes.

The free app, available through iTunes and Google Play, is created by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), the world’s largest wine and spirits education provider, and is built on the trademark WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT). The simple steps allow wine drinkers to make detailed and consistent notes when tasting wines, storing all of their notes for easy access on their device. When adding a note, tasters can choose between knowing what they are tasting or tasting blind, and can add a photo of the wine label to help with easy recognition.

The app is a great tool for all wine tasters, complete with useful pro tips on how to record notes. The app also provides a taster of the skills students can expect to acquire through WSET courses.

The app includes a database of over 300 wine producing countries and regions; over 100 pre-populated grape varieties; a comprehensive lexicon of commonly used aroma and flavour descriptors; pro tips to guide you through the ap; “Blind” tasting notes mode; search function to review stored tasting notes and more.
