The world’s top chefs came together in Lyon in January this year where a total of 24 international cooking teams competed in the Bocuse d’Or finale – probably the most famous international cooking contest.
The Danish team led by head chef Kenneth Toft-Hansen impressed the jury with their culinary skills and won the golden trophy. The Swedes with head chef Sebastian Gibrand followed with silver and the Norwegian team with head chef Christian André Pettersen with bronze.
The crème de la crème comes together every two years to pit their culinary skills against one another in Lyon, the hometown of Paul Bocuse, the namesake and initiator of the competition. To serve their culinary creations, competitors were able to choose from a selection of plates from the Stella Vogue and Stella Hotel ranges from Villeroy & Boch. In addition to the competition plates, Villeroy & Boch produced a limited edition Bocuse d’Or collector’s plate.
