THAIFEX-World of Food Asia returns for its 16th edition from 28 May to 1 June 2019. The region’s largest dedicated F&B trade show, it is the strategic gateway for companies looking to penetrate the industry in the ASEAN and Indochina regions.

In 2018, THAIFEX-World of Food Asia wrapped up five action-packed days, with a total of 13,110 international trade visitors from over 150 countries. This brought the total trade visitor count to a whopping 62,039, the largest visitor attendance at the tradeshow to date.

This year, THAIFEX-World of Food Asia is expecting more than 2,500 exhibitors from more than 40 countries with new country groups from Brazil, Poland, Spain and USA. This means 67,000 trade visitors, an 8 per cent increase from the 2018 show along with more than 2,000 top-rated trade buyers.

Elevated Experience 

The show will feature a new and improved hosted buyer experience. The hosted buyer programme was a huge hit in 2018, with 2,168 hosted international buyers attending the show. This year, hosted buyers will be able to pre-select the exhibitors they want to meet ahead of time to ensure that appointments during the show days are productive and meaningful.

An exclusive membership card, the THAFEXclusive Card, will be issued to top buyers for quick access to the show with exclusive benefits such as complimentary F&B, concierge services, wifi access, massage, luggage delivery and storage. To enhance the visitor experience, the show will have river taxi rides to reduce travelling time to and from Bangkok’s city centre. Also on the cards is an improved and larger THAIFEXclusive Club, faster self-check-in system with self-print counters and express luggage delivery from show grounds to airport (chargeable service; 1 piece complimentary for Hosted Buyers)

To allow businesses to increase efficiency and profitability, IMPACT Challenger, Hall 1 has been re-tailored as the Technology Hall, where companies across three technology sectors of THAIFEX – Food Technology, Food Service and Coffee & Tea – will showcase their products, tools and processes.

Innovations and Trends  

THAIFEX-World of Food Asia presents 11 trade shows across 11 halls at the IMPACT Muang Thong Thani: coffee & tea, drinks, fine food, food service, food technology, frozen food, fruits & vegetables, meat, rice, seafood, and sweets & confectionery.

Making its debut this year is Food Experience+, showcasing trends and innovation in foodservice relevant to quick service and fast food restaurants, cafes, bars, caterers, and hotels. Visitors can expect talk shows, product demonstrations, and workshops presenting revolutionary technology, products, and designs all specially curated.

Also making its inaugural introduction this year is the ‘future of the foodservice segment’ focusing on how next-generation leaders intend to enhance food service and customer experience. Making a comeback are THAIFEX Halal Market and THAIFEX Organic Market, along with the improved THAIFEXtaste Innovation Show. Innova Market Insights, will have live presentations on the top 10 consumer trends that are taking product development forward with insights on packaging, technology and flavour drivers. In addition, the innofood Asia Conference returns as the Leadership in Food Innovation Conference Series.

Back for its 8th edition is the Thailand Ultimate Chef Challenge which will have chefs vying for “Best Ultimate Professional Chef Award”, “Best Ultimate Junior Chef Award”, and “Best Ultimate Pastry Chef Award”. New challenges include “Asian Gourmet Challenge”, “AEC Culinary Challenge”, “Global Chefs Challenge”, “Global Pastry Chefs Challenge”, and “Global Young Chefs Challenge – The Hans Bueschkens Trophy”.
