The rapid rise of ‘experiential dining’ is reshaping the foodservice scene. Today, consumers require a holistic and creative approach that goes beyond satisfying taste buds. Organised by Reed Exhibitions Singapore in collaboration with EquipHotel Paris, Equip&Dine Asia is set to gear foodservice and hospitality professionals with creative ideas and latest solutions.
The carefully curated thematic layout, a unique feature of the event, will bring to the show floor realistic restaurant settings, treating visitors to an immersive, multi-sensory experience. Besides an array of premium, superior quality food ingredients showcased by award-winning brands, Equip&Dine Asia will also feature a uniquely-designed culinary competition area to reflect real-world scenarios, with designated kitchen (back of house) and dining (front of house) areas.
Exhibitor profiles include: decoration, furnishings & fittings, food & beverage, hygiene equipment & supplies, indoor & outdoor furniture, interior design decoration, kitchen equipment, linen & professional textiles and tableware supplies.
Among the competitions are ‘The Most Gracious Host Challenge’ (home chefs are tasked to tantalise the taste buds of a panel of judges with a themed four-course menu for 12 guests), and ‘Tables Dressing Challenge’ (banquet and catering operations professionals have to race against time to deck out their tables in the most elaborate manner possible). Contestants will need originality and a keen eye for details to deliver an impeccably set table.
Coffee, tea and gelato enthusiasts can look forward to the inaugural SEAsia Café Expo, set to be the region’s authoritative show on the latest trends in the café industry. While the latest tools and techniques will still be on display, the icing on the cake however is the carefully curated thematic layout, that will bring to the show floor realistic café settings customised for tomorrow’s generation.
Putting experience at the heart of the event, SEAsia Café Expo will recreate scenes from some of the world’s famous cafe streets, lined with coffee houses, gelato parlours, dessert kiosks and more.
The creative side of the coffee industry will be celebrated at the Barista Redefined Challenge as baristas are put under the scrutiny, not only on taste and technique, but also on presentation, and service.
Organised by Singapore Desserts Association, the first Asian Gelato Challenge aims to create new culinary trends and raise the level of creativity and professionalism by showcasing Asia’s finest gelato artisans. (www.equipdineasia.com)
