Banyan Tree Phuket has appointed chef Shiga Takahiro at its Japanese restaurant: Taihei.
Specialising in sushi, sashimi, and teppanyaki, Chef Shiga developed his talents in Chiba and Tokyo in Japan, before moving to Beijing, Shenzhen and Kuala Lumpur focusing mainly on interpreting Japanese cuisine in his own style.
“I am excited by the opportunity because Banyan Tree is a famous brand,” Chef Shiga says, “and Banyan Tree Phuket is the first villa resort in Phuket. My philosophy is to integrate fresh local products with high quality ingredients imported from Japan in order to satisfy the taste of our international and well-travelled guests.”
